Daily Snack: Please send a healthy snack to school with your child each morning. Pack your child's snack separate from their lunch.
Your child's birthday is a special event and we love celebrating birthdays at school. We welcome you to send in a small non-edible treat or come to the classroom to read a favorite story to the class. We have 19 students this year. Please let me know a day or two in advance if you are planning to visit or send in a treat for your child's birthday. Thanks!
Lunch: Please send lunch money in a envelope or baggie labeled with your child's name, grade, teacher and room 17 or pay online for your child's lunch.
Homework: 1. It is expected that your child and you read daily (about 10-20 minutes). (Adults should read too! This is important, as your child will model your good fluency and expression.) A reading log will go home at the beginning of each month to keep track of your child's reading. Your child can color a picture each day they read a book or listen to a story. Reading with your child is the single most important activity you can do to help your child with school success. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! 2. Practice sight words with your child to increase automaticity and fluency in reading. There are many ways to practice sight words with your child.
